Je serai en concert à la cave de l'AMR, du lundi 27 au jeudi 30 octobre, en trio avec Raimundo Santander (guitare) et Massimo Pinca (contrebasse).

J'ai rencontré Rai lors d'une tournée en bus entre Moscou et Tuva (Musenergo, en 2013). Je l'ai croisé à Genève, ou il jouait avec Yves Cerf dans la pièce Atacama, fin 2024. Nous avons discuté et fait une session d'impro, très inspirante. J'avais aussi improvisé en duo avec Massimo quelques mois avant. Toute cette énergie m'a donné envie de faire cette résidence.

Quatre soirs d'improvisation totale, on ne répète pas, et il n'y a pas de compositions. Rai arrive le lundi matin, comme ça on ne peut pas tricher. On enregistre tout, pour une sortie début 2026 probablement.

Ça sera mon premier travail en groupe depuis 2017. Entre temps, j'ai joué en piano solo fin 2023 et sorti l'album Loriol (cassette, 2024). Je vais avoir un sacré trac, mais je me réjouis immensément de jouer avec ces deux lascars.

En décembre, je ferai une résidence de 3 jours et un concert à Porto, dans le cadre de l'échange entre l'AMR et Porta-Jazz. J'y vais avec Andreas Fulgosi (guitare), et je ne sais pas encore qui je vais rencontrer là-bas, mais ça va être super.

I will be performing at the Cave de l'AMR in Geneva, from 27 to 30 October, in a trio with Raimundo Santander (guitar) and Massimo Pinca (double bass).

I met Rai during a bus tour between Moscow and Tuva (Musenergo, in 2013). I ran into him in Geneva, where he was playing with Yves Cerf in the play Atacama at the end of 2024. We talked and did an improvisation session, which was very inspiring. I had also improvised in a duo with Massimo a few months earlier. All this energy made me want to do this residency.

Four evenings of total improvisation, no rehearsals, and no compositions. Rai arrives on Monday morning, so we can't cheat. We record everything, for a release in early 2026 if all goes well.

It will be my first group work since 2017. In the meantime, I played solo piano at the end of 2023 and released the album Loriol (cassette, 2024). I'm going to be really nervous, but I'm really looking forward to playing with these two guys.

In December, I'll be doing a three-day residency and a concert in Porto, as part of the exchange between AMR and Porta-Jazz. I'm going with Andreas Fulgosi (guitar), and I don't know yet who I'll be meeting there, but it's going to be great.
